Description
These cufflinks are made of highly polished wood from the kingwood tree, of the Mexican or Brazilian variety. The grain and features are captured very well. This kingwood is a beautifully fine-grained exotic hardwood. They have a dark purple-brown color. All of this marbling, grain and striations that you see are 100% natural. I have used no stains. I love wearing these ones because they look great without being over the top or gaudy.
The ivory portion is made from tagua nut, a dense little tropical nut used as a substitute for small inlay work.
The shape is generally rectangular, sawn by a miter saw, but curved by being sanded. They are clear coated, then sanded once again for good measure and clear coated again! This way they have a deep luster to them.
They measure 7/8″ x 5/8″ x 3/16″.
