Description
These cufflinks are made of highly polished wood from the ebony from the genus Diospyros of Africa. Ebony is dense enough to sink in water. The grain and features are captured very well, despite the overwhelming blackness of the wood. Ebony is a beautifully fine-grained exotic hardwood. All of this marbling, grain and striations that you see are 100% natural. The wood naturally grows like this: totally black. I have used no stains. This is the real color: a dense and gravitational black. I love wearing these ones because they look great without being over the top or gaudy.
The shape is generally rectangular, sawn by a miter saw, but curved by being sanded. They are clear coated, then sanded once again for good measure and clear coated again! This way they have a deep luster to them. They were pretty labor intensive 🙂 My dad created these parts in his garage!
