These cufflinks are made of highly polished wood from the Padauk or Petrocarpus soyauxii of Africa. The grain and features are captured very well. Padauk is a beautifully grained exotic hardwood. All of this marbling, grain and striations that you see are 100% natural. The wood naturally grows like this. This is the real color: a dense, vibrant terracotta red. I love wearing these ones because they look great without being over the top or gaudy.
The shape is generally rectangular, sawn by a miter saw, but curved by being sanded. They are clear coated, then sanded once again for good measure and clear coated again! This way they have a deep luster to them. They were pretty labor intensive 🙂 My dad created these parts in his garage!
These are made with pride in the USA! Please support American manufacturing and small business!
